[mythtv-users] OT: gatos drivers being folded into xorg

Thats exaggerating. I have an ATI 7500 AIW in my mythbox. I won't say it
was easy but I was able to make it work as a headless TV-out only
machine using the GATOS drivers. Unfortunately I never got the TV-in
tuner to work with myth so I bought a WinTV Go card for that part. I
got X running quite some time ago so its still running XFree86 4.3 or so
with the GATOS TV-out drivers plus I got a patch from someone on the
Gatos mailing list to make it ignore the fact that there was no monitor
attached (other than the TV).

On the other hand if I was buying parts for a new machine I'd definitely
go with an older Nvidia card as its much easier to get working properly,
YMMV.
