hmm, i probably should have mentioned that i'm still using 
ivtv-0.1.10pre2-ck110p ... it's a pretty old version.  i wonder if that 
has anything to do with it?

i've been thinking of trying out the newer 0.2x version ... but if it is 
working, then why mess with it?
