[mythtv-users] What NOT to do to your Myth box...

My condolences, I do feel your pain.

For what it's worth, I use PuTTY to hook up to my Myth box remotely.
I connect to my SmoothWall router on port 222.PuTTY (on Windows) is
setup to tunnel
port 80 to 192.168.1.x:80. On my laptop at the hotel, I then go to
http://localhost
and see my Myth box. This keeps it safe and secure on the green network,
but still allows me to use it remotely. This setup also works for ssh,
vnc, etc.
I imagine WinMyth would work too, but it crashed on me repeatedly, so I
went to bed :-)

Regards,
   JJ
