I bought one of these when my previous IR keyboard/thumbpad died:

It works at a greater distance than the cheaper RF keyboards/mice. Switching
from a notebook-sized keyboard to a full-size 104-key keyboard is nice as
well (everything is in the right place, unlike with some recent Microsoft
and Logitech keyboards). The optical mouse is small enough that you can use
it on the armrest of your favorite recliner. :-)
I haven't tried doing anything with the bundled presentation controller
(maybe it works with OpenOffice's presentation program as well as
PowerPoint), but the keyboard and mouse work fine with Linux. (Make sure
you have USB HID support available before you connect it...I suppose that
would be a given on a Mac, but you probably aren't using it on x86
hardware. The receiver dongle plugs into a USB port.)
