Steve,

I tried to force Mythtv to record a show via the
firewire.  This is what
I get in mythbackend.log:

2005-12-12 22:00:03.229 Changing from None to
RecordingOnly
2005-12-12 22:00:03.238 Using profile 'Default' to
record
2005-12-12 22:00:03.241 StartRecording
2005-12-12 22:00:03.242 Firewire: Initializing Port:
1, Node: 0, Speed: 100Mbps
2005-12-12 22:00:03.243 Firewire: Creating P2P
Connection with Node: 0
libiec61883 warning: Overlayed connection on channel
0.
You may need to manually set the channel on the
receiving node.
2005-12-12 22:00:03.258 Firewire: Created Channel: 0,
Bandwidth Allocation: 0
2005-12-12 22:00:03.259 Firewire: Changing Speed
200Mbps -> 100Mbps
2005-12-12 22:00:18.264 Firewire: No Input in 15
seconds [P:1 N:0] (select)
2005-12-12 22:00:20.926 JobQueue::RecoverQueue:
Checking for unfinished jobs to

I had the cable box set to channel 912, which is the
HDTV version of
over-the-air CBS, so I would not think it was encoded.

Note: I can connect if external Firewire disk drive to
both my firewire
cards ( motherboard and PCI ) and I can mount
filesystems off of it.
So, I'm confident they are working.

Thanks,

Mike
