>Hi,

Does anyone feel upto taking me through lirc step for step? There's something
basic I'm just not getting here. Now have a Remotec bw6130 (USB) which needs
lirc 0.7.2. I'm hoping to supplement the rather meagre selection of keys
and codes w
>th a few more and program them into my harmony....not sure how
yet.

I've taken out everything I can find of my old 0.7.1, and done a ./setup.sh
/ make /make install for 0.7.2, which tests the system and tells me I don't
need kernel modules, then
>uilds without errors.

How do I get it to do something useful with my remote, so far irw gives
me:
 irw
connect: Connection refused

..
and mode2:
mode2
mode2: error opening /dev/lirc
mode2: No such device or address

I've done everythin
> I can find in the lirc docs.

...

don't know how I missed this before, but running any lircd command (start,
restart, stop) gives me:
lircd 0.7.2: Segmentation fault
