I'm a Linux *server* fan (hm, almost literally ... my wife says I push
a lot of hot air around all right) but wasn't so hot with desktop
distros when I decided I wanted my MythTV. So I verrryyyy carefully
followed the recipe on wilsonet.com in the Fedora Core 2/Myth 0.16 era
with a Shuttle box and a PVR-250 and about 7 hours of blood, toil,
tears & sweat later, voila, MythTV. My cheapo universal remote even
learned the codes from the Hauppauge remote so poof, lirc. I've since
upgraded using atrpms twice with absolutely no problems. (I know,
lucky, lucky me!!!! Yes, I'm aware of this.)

So if I can do it, you can do it. Knoppmyth is great in its place but
why not try another flavor?
