Agreed.  Search the list archives at
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/ivtv/devel/ for clues.

It's very important to set up /etc/modprobe.conf correctly, and you
need to copy the PVR-150 firmware file to the correct place
(/lib/modules/HcwMakoA.ROM).

I set up a PVR-150 recently (still haven't had complete success using
it with MythTV) and found help in these threads:
