[mythtv-users] unable to play video on frontend (but dvd works).

Hi Folks,
I'm building my first mythbox, gentoo linux, pvr-350, nvidia geforce mx4000.

I have run into an issue that I have been unable to find an answer to.
I can playback dvd's, record tv shows, but when I try to or watch live
tv or playback recorded shows my mythfrontend complains that it is
"unable to initialise video".
I have included is the output from the mythfrontend console at the end
of this email[1]. I noticed the following message in the console
output:
IVTV_IOC_GET_FB: Invalid argument
Which would make me suspect that something is wrong with ivtv, but I
can play my recordings using mplayer, and I can also watch the live
mpeg streams[2] with it, so I guess my ivtv setup is ok?
As I mentioned earlier the frontend is able to play back dvd's, so I
don't think its an issue with the video card.

Can anyone suggest what I might investigate or do as a next step?
Should I just move on and start configuring myth to use the PVR-350's
tv-out capability?
BTW I'm currently launching the frontend under a gnome session.
If I can provide more information just let me know...
thanks,
--Frank
