Doesn't sound like it at first glance. The channel change issue is 
about a data structure that is deleted and can't get recreated. Also, 
you'd have to be running recent CVS as the XvMC stuff was updated just 
after .18, on April 22 IIRC.

But, I'm not really the expert, at this point I'm just an interested 
bystander.
