[mythtv-users] newbie Connections question for PVR-250

Hi,
   I've made lots of headway in terms of error messages and warnings
(none now) with MythTV and my PVR-250 but I'm still not getting video.
To recap:

1) ivtv installed on Gentoo machine with PVR-250
2) Can record at the command line using cat /dev/v4l/video0>test.mpg.
Playback in mplayer looks good.
3) Have setup ZapIt account and seem to be getting good data in the
Program Guide
4) Extraneous things like MythWeather are working and I get weather
maps, data, etc.

Now, at this point I can start up mythfrontend and try to watch TV. I
get a black screen but if I hit up/down/left/right arrows I get info
on the screen. The default channel seems to be channel 2 and I see
correct program data, but I do not get a TV signal.

Likewise if I try to record a program I get an indication from Myth
that it's working on the right program but I get no picture.

QUESTION: Is this problem because of how I set up the 'Input Connections' page?

I cannot find a specific example of how people have set this to
operate correctly so I've been guessing. Here's what I've done so far:

CAPTURE CARDS: [MPEG: /dev/v4l/video0]
Card Type: MPEG-2 Encoder (PVR-250/350)
Video device: /dev/v4l/video0
Default input: Composite 0

VIDEO SOURCE:
Video Source Name: Comcast Cable
XMLTV Listings Grabber: North America (Data Direct)
UserID/Password - set to my account
Data-Direct-Lineup: Comcast-CableDigitalDigital-95032
Channel Frequency Table: default

INPUT CONNECTIONS:
[MPEG:/dev/v4l/video0] (Composite 0) -> Comcast Cable
[MPEG:/dev/v4l/video0] (Composite 1) -> (None)
[MPEG:/dev/v4l/video0] (Composite 2) -> (None)
[MPEG:/dev/v4l/video0] (Composite 3) -> (None)
[MPEG:/dev/v4l/video0] (Tuner 0) -> (None)
[MPEG:/dev/v4l/video0] (Composite 4) -> (None)
[MPEG:/dev/v4l/video0] (S-Video 0) -> (None)
[MPEG:/dev/v4l/video0] (S-Video 1) -> (None)
[MPEG:/dev/v4l/video0] (S-Video 2) -> (None)
[MPEG:/dev/v4l/video0] (S-Video 3) -> (None)

I set it this way since when I try to watch TV what I see is
'Composite 0' on the screen. Maybe I'm supposed to use the tuner? I'm
not sure.

I hope this is enough info without being too much. I really hope
someone sees what's wrong and helps me get some TV going this evening.

Thanks!

Cheers,
Mark
