There are several posts on this board that are relevant to this topic, but never land upon it specifically. This is not a solicitation to have the answer handed to me, but if anyone has already done this, or been thwarted trying then I would appreciate hearing what ever you have to say on the matter. Likewise, any links or posts on the matter would be appreciated.

I have a Myth box with a PVR-250 and am soon adding a PVR-500. The motherboard is an A7N8X-E Deluxe (integrated APU; support 5.1). I would like to set things up so that my Myth box can take the place of my crappy Technics receiver. Specifically, I wish to attach my DVD, VCR, Tape Deck, Vid Cam and so forth to the various composite connectors on the cards. Both PVR cards can get additional input thru AV attachments to their AV headers making for a possibility of four AV connections.

I need to be able to step through the various cards and inputs from my remote. Preferably with one button. It would be really nice to be able to select a specific tuner/input combination with a single button, but I am not greedy. Well, at least not rapacious. I think I know how to do this, but it may take some coding.

There would need to be a way to turn off the buffering for Live TV. I remember reading up on this about a month ago, but need to find the postings again. Preferably I would keep the buffering for regular coax TV, and ditch it for everything else.

Finally, I would need to find a decent set of 5.1 computer speakers with longish (room-length) speaker wires. Alternatively, wireless speaker options.
