i have the same case.  it gets pretty tight in there and will get hot.
 i have a dvd drive and two HDs.  i do have decent cooling though and
it isn't too loud.
you can build a file server out of an older lower powered machine,
especially if you're using hardware RAID.  fileservers typically don't
need a lot of power.
