Yes, leave it alone, but no, the lockfile isn't put there by nfs. It's
used by the backends to determine whether or not they're using a shared
directory structure. You might be using samba, for example. When I
implemented it I assumed that everyone would be using NFS, which is why
it's called that. Everyone will have a nfslockfile in their directory,
even if they only have one system.

That doesn't matter. Multiple slashes don't hurt. The problem is
somewhere else.
