Yes.  It provides a "30 second skip" feature as well as a fairly slow fast
forward.  It also lets you use the 1-9 keys on the remote to jump to 10%,
20%, 30%...90%.

Not yet.  Not enough decoding power on-board for MPEG-4.  The out-of-the-box
firmware and PC software CAN play DivX/MPEG-4 files, but it uses the
decoding power of the server PC to assist.  That type of solution is not yet
built for the modified mvpmc firmware.
