I can see how an "extend recording" feature  would be useful when
recording a baseball game where there are extra innings or rain
delays.  But I'm just not too sure what could be used to be smart
enough to handle it.  There's nothing in the programming schedule that
could give you a heads up of a rain delay for example.  You would have
to manually change it, which is the same thing as just altering a
manual recording.

I usually just manually record my mythbox to record for 4 hours when
recording my Bears games, but that would never extend to 3 hours past
the recording time.  They play rain or shine usually.
