[mythtv-users] HDTV Recommendations... with DVI

I'm using an Nvidia GeForce4 FX5500 and have previously used a 5200 (no
difference between them from what I can tell) to drive my projector via
DVI-D. It works great.

For sound, I'm using a Hercules Game Theater XP 7.1, primarily because it
has multiple SPDIF inputs and output. It also works fine.

Subject: [mythtv-users] HDTV Recommendations... with DVI

Hi everyone,

I've been following todays HDTV Recommendations thread with great
interest. I too am in the early stages of building a MythTV system to feed
my HD-ready TV. The only difference is that I want to use the DVI input on
my TV instead of component video and I was wondering if anyone has a
recommendation for a video card that would allow me to set up a digital
connection with a DVI-I to DVI-D cable. I will be capturing OTA HDTV with
a HD-2000 or HD-3000.

My TV is a Sony KP-57WV700 with what looks like a DVI-D input (labelled
DVD-HDTV IN).

From my research it sounds like an NVIDIA based card would be my best
bet... but which one?

While I've got you... anyone have a recommendation for a stable sound
card? I'm looking for something that will handle 5.1 sound with SPDIF
(optical) output. My current MythTV system is based on a Pundit and the
onboard SPDIF is flakey at best. I just want something reliable.

Thanks!

Gary
