[mythtv-users] Myth .16 setup and database

Hi...I haven't been able to solve the following problem on my own:

I have compiled MythTV 0.16 from the source tarball from mythtv.org.
Compiles fine, but ./setup program is not working as expected.

First...I get an error about not being able find 'mysql.txt', but it is in
/usr/local/share/mythtv as it should be--and has the correct permissions
as well as proper data in the file itself.

I have also verified that mysql is running and that 'mythconverg' database
exists per executing 'mc.sql'.

Why is not finding/reading 'mysql.txt' in /usr/local/share/mythtv ??
How can I make it read this file from that location?

So...I copy the 'mysql.txt' file to my ~/.mythtv directory and try running
setup again. Then I get a message about not being able to find themes,
but setup continues. However, after I answer the two questions about
clearing my settings...the screen blinks once, very fast, and then I
return to the command prompt--meaning, I never really ran setup!
What's up with that??

Initial error about 'mysql.txt'

Unable to connect to database!
Driver error was [1/-1]:

If this is the master backend server:
Now, please run 'mythfilldatabase' to populate the database

Thank you for your assistance...it much needed and appreciated! :-)
