Did you look at what top says? It seems there is a problem with the 
polling of the ksoftirqd. Sometimes (this is not reconstructable, 
therefor debugging it is quite tedious) ksoftirqd just takes up 60% (if 
you have a mouse and keyboard attached) to 100% (no mouse/keyboard). 
There seems to be an issue when there is network traffic (I get it when 
I access my videos through samba), that results in this phenomena.
