[mythtv-users] Switching resolution based on channel/recording

Here is some help I got from outside the forum on this subject - I'm reposting if anyone else is interested.

"Edit the "settings.pro" file and UNcomment the two statements that tell it "use xrandr".  This will enable the mode switch function, and a new setup screen will appear under "settings->appearance" in the frontend.  Choose "use different modes for GUI and playback" and then set accordingly.  Be sure that your XF86Config has the modes you want defined."
