If you want to open your nuv across network using a samba share, you
could simply edit mythweb/config/conf.php and comment out line 40:

define('video_url', video_dir);

Then uncomment line 47 and modify it for your needs. Here's mine for example:

define('video_url','file://teevee/myth/recs');

Next, you need to associate the nuv extension in explorer.
