[mythtv-users] mythfrontend suid root?

I'm now seeing messages in my mythfrontend's log that I could have
smoother video if I ran it suid root:
"Running as SUID root would allow some threads to   run with realtime
priority, improving video smoothness."

Tried that -- now instead of a spurious message about "halting
system", mythfront actually goes and shuts down my system when it
crashes!
