Thanks Hamish,

Would be surprised if there was a signal problem as I've had a new
aerial, boosters, etc. and the result was a really strong signal.

Do you know how these messages can be turned off?

Yes, those are caused by uncorrectable errors in the received packets.

The receive DVB hardware flags the packets as errored if they are
corrupt, and Myth is logging that it saw the error flag on received
packets. It probably means your antenna connection or received signal
strength or S/N ratio is not up to scratch.

However I have my suspicions that the churning of the disk can also
cause this, so a burst of real errors can get the disk churning causing
more errors and them more disk churning. I can't prove it though.
