[mythtv-users] Does MythTV Obviate a DVD Player?

Dex,

   I have tried several different DVD drives on my machines and it does
seem like some are better at dealing with scratches than others. I used
to use a Pioneer DVD drive that I scavenged out of an old G4 PowerMac
that died, but it hung on scratched up DVDs alot. I am currently using
a Samsung Combo drive and it seems to work pretty well. Although I have
a copy of "Monters Inc." that it does not like which is not scratched
at all, which my G4 PowerBook will play back without a hiccup. Go
figure. I still have my Panasonic DVD player around, but I use it very
infrequently since I setup the two MythTV boxes.
