[mythtv-users] Does MythTV Obviate a DVD Player?

I've been trying for last 2 months to use the Myth system as my DVD, but almost every DVD from
Blockbuster I play starts skipping like a old 8trac. I then put that same DVD in my Samsung and
it works fine.

Does CPU matter when playing DVD's? Are some DVD-Roms better then others and managing scratches?
