[mythtv-users] Hear audio from Line in despite muting

When I switch to watching live TV, I can hear the real-time audio from the
line in along with the delayed audio that is in sync with the video.  Upon
exiting MythTV I can still hear audio from the TV tuner.  This is exactly
what I would expect to happen if the line in were not muted; however, it
certainly is.

I have my OEM STB TV tuner connected to the AUX in of a sound blaster live.
I have verified that the AUX in is set as the captur device and is muted.
Both amixer and the GUI alsa config utility report this to be the case.  I'm
running gentoo with the 2.6.9-r1 kernel.  The backend's audio device is set
to /dev/dsp.  The frontends audio device is set to ALSA:default.

Anyone have any ideas?  Happy to provide any info needed.
