[mythtv-users] Australian XMLTV grabber

It looks as though D1 has come through this morning on my system.

Although it only looks like titles and times (no sub titles and
descriptions)

Has anyone else had their programming updated?

Thanks

Hehe....just I read this:

Microsoft releases Media Center in Australia - 13 Oct 2004

However, Microsoft spokespeople admitted today that the highly debated
Electronic Program Guide (EPG) function is not available on the
Australian version.

According to Microsoft it has been "lobbying" the media industry to
allow the technology to go forward, but they said the final decision on
it was out of their hands.

"It's an initiative that will be put together by the media industry,
it's not a Microsoft initiative," a spokesperson said.

A Toshiba spokesperson added that the EPG has been delayed in Australia
because various media organisations cannot agree to a standardised
platform for the technology.

LOL....even MS cant get them to agree on things.

So does anyone know what Microsoft is doing for TV Guide information in
Australia for it's Media Centre Product?

Thanks

Damon,
Great work, I'm also in Canberra, so thats perfect.
The first time I ran it there were a few messages about trying to read
from closed file handles, and it returned almost immediately, there was
no data (besides channel ids) in guide.xml.
I ran it again, and that time it worked, not sure what the problem was.
There were still a few errors about uninitialised variables in
concatenations etc, but it did eventually complete, and it loads into
myth fine. I've had a quick browse through the results with mythweb and
it all looks good.

The grabber takes quite a long time, is there any way to parallelise the
downloads perhaps??

Thanks again for your efforts.
Dave
