extending frame to keep audio in sync

I am looking into why my playback sometimes is choppy.
Looks like the prebuffering pause scenario. Ran
mythfrontend -verbose playback and I get the
following:
2004-10-30 02:01:28 A/V diverged by 3.26713 frames,
extending frame to keep audio in sync
2004-10-30 02:01:28 A/V diverged by 3.52928 frames,
extending frame to keep audio in sync
2004-10-30 02:01:28 A/V diverged by 3.49362 frames,
extending frame to keep audio in sync
2004-10-30 02:01:28 A/V diverged by 3.20464 frames,
extending frame to keep audiio in sync
I assume the extending frame to audio in sync is
causing the extra CPU load on my X server.
Seached in archives and did not find anything useful.
Wondering if this has something to do with the refresh
rate of my tv screen? Any ideas?
Regards,
HC.
