Thanks for your reply, but I'm sorry to say it makes no difference.

The problem is when, from the play screen, I've hit '3' to add music to the 
playlist, and I'm trying to navigate down the artist listing to get the 
albums for each artist.  The only control I have other than "single item 
up/down" is to hit a number key to jump a percentage into the file.  Say I 
hit "5" for 50%, then it takes about 15 seconds to update the display, with 
no indication its thinking.  Should someone guess that its hung (or nothing 
has happened), and hit the key again, then it just adds another 15 seconds 
to the wait.
