[mythtv-users] help - this is just too much

It is not unusual to lose a digital station here. When this happens
the frontend does not always allow me to get out. It just sits there
with a black screen. I have to kill it. Sometime it does give up
after a while.

But it is not done yet. When you restart the frontend and go to
"Watch TV" it remembers the last channel and goes for it again.
Maybe it is the backend that remembers, but the result is still
the same. I have to run the backend setup and change the default
channel to a working one.

1) Why does the backend change the default channel? I prefer that
it stays as I set it. The frontend may remember things but I cannot
see how one frontend should change the default of the backend.

2) It would be really nice if I can chose the channel for "Watch TV"
before entering it.

Or did I miss something simple?

Here is an example. In this case the frontend recovers after 15s, but
the backend will continue to tune to channel 9 whenever I try to
Watch TV.
