Not sure, would have to look at the source to see if the XVMC VLD
settings disables the filters...

I'm sticking with native for the moment (it's a frontend only so ivtv
isn't an option for me anyway).
Native has processorload of about 70% and full color OSD that doesn't
stutter.

Using cle266 (processorload about 50%) I see some mpeg artefacts on
playback that are not in the recordings. There are also some deinterlace
issues. Linear and kernel deint give me odd and even frames in the
wrong order (at least i think because when watching a forein movie with
subtiles the subtile is seen in a flash and than dissapears again before
is is shown, but this might be a PAL only thing as nobody else has
reported this so far). The Epia OSD color support (limited colormap)
doesn't realy look as nice as the full color Titivilus-OSD. :-)

I'm doing a netboot with the silververstone LC05 case that has an
external power supply so the FAN is the only noise left. It was kindoff
loud so I replaced it with a sligtly bigger heatsink/fan combination
with a fan speed regulater.
