Move the splitter to your cablebox output. The tuner doesn't know what to do
with the digital input.

You can use just your VGA card for output, given enough horsepower in
the system. VGA and TV-out are different.

Mythfrontend needs at least the database from the backend to start. I'm
not sure, since I've never tried it, if the full backend needs to be running 
to get the front to start. If all you're doing is trying to get live TV
at the moment, you need the backend.

Take one step at a time. Get the base system working first, then go
for the tv-out.
