[mythtv-users] Help with AC3

Anybody can help me getting AC3 working?

I have a SB Audigy card and would like to use the AC3 audio steam 
instead of the normal MPEG stream. But I don't know how to get it 
working (after searching high and low with Google and mythtv.info). Can 
somebody please tell me (or point me to a URL) how?

MythTV is downloaded from CVS and compiled to use ALSA.

I tried adding 'a52' in the playback filter for that channel, but all I 
get was "prebuffering pause", "not in running state, state=2" errors.

What mystifies me is the fact that mybackend tells me the Audiostream is 
"Layer 1" for both MPEG and AC3.  I did a search and some pple actually 
got their backend reporting "Audio: AC3". What gives?
