You could always just tell <insert your media player of choice> to
open .nuv files and play them auto-magically. No extra copies
required, no fancy scripting...

select .nuv file, right-click, open with, check the "always use this
program..." box, pick your poison and go! As Donavan points out,
windoze will play your MPEG2 encoded files just fine.
