Nate, just to confirm, it does have a serial port. Question is how do I send commands to the device? I'm certain it's not as simple as reusing the rca.pl script from my DirecTV box. Same deal with an IR Blaster. How would I figure out how to match the codes to control the Pansat using Myth?
 
Any tips would be appreciated.
 
 
Does it have a serial port (it may look like a phone jack or something else) 

if not, you can use an ir blaster to emulate control via a remote.
