Weird noise on the analog output, or weird noise on the spdif output 
when trying to play analog sounds?

Also, I wouldn't edit the xine config file directly, I'd make the 
changes through the xine config ui, your settings might be slightly 
different, depending on your soundcard and .asoundrc.
