[mythtv-users] Alsa: duplicate output to SPDIF?

Hi,

Just to let you all know that I managed to get this working on my MythTV
system. First of all, use this asoundrc:
http://astron.berkeley.edu/~mperrin/software/.asoundrc

But, this will give you xrun errors in mplayer. I haven't figured out how
to do the rate conversion in the asoundrc yet, because you cannot use the
dmix plugin in this configuration. But, you can force mplayer to output
48kHz sound and if you do, it works great!

The downside, MythTV crashed as soon as I enabled ALSA for sound output
with this asoundrc and MythMusic (the real reason I want this!) doesn't
even support alsa in 0.16.

Kind regards,

Mark
