Hi,
I get audible crackling while doing anything (live TV, recordings, DVDs) on my
MythTV box. I noticed that the pops occur in sync with a flashing yellow
light on my PCMCIA wireless card (Netgear WG511). I know the crackling is not
part of the original recording, since if I remove the wireless card, the
popping stops. Plus, anything involving internet access (ie. mythfilldatabase,
mythweather, etc.) causes a background buzzing sound.
My guess is that the interference from the wireless card is adding noise to
the sound cable. I am using a 3.5mm to RCA Y-adapter to send the sound from
my computer to the TV. I bought a rather cheap adapter at Target, so I don't
know if it's shielded or anything. Can anyone recommend a good brand? I'd be
willing to spend more $$ in order to make sure that I get one that keeps out
interference.
Thanks,
Micah
