[mythtv-users] Underscan/Overscan PVR-350 TV OUT

Jarod's Fedora Core 2 guide assumes that you're using
KDE. Unfortunately, the KDE window manager doesn't
seem to support the GUI offsets, only the size.

The solution that I used (which works for me, and at
least one other) is to use ratpoison instead of KDE.
It's available through apt-get, so it's easy to
install. At that point, you just have to modify your
.xinitrc to read:
/usr/bin/mythfrontend &
exec ratpoison

(Don't forget to chmod +x your .xinitrc, and the
/usr/bin/mythfrontend assumes that you're using the
Fedora Core 2 MythTV RPMs which install in /usr/bin.)

Using ratpoison over KDE offers the following
benefits:
1. X/Y GUI positioning works (which is what you're
trying to do)
2. It loads faster than KDE (and uses less memory)
3. No annoying taskbar or focus issues to worry about
4. No need to disable ARTS or the KDE screensavers
(although you should still disable DPMS in X11),
because they never load
