That is almost as bad is what I did last week.  I manually ran 
mythfilldatabase and kept getting a bunch of 'table not found' errors.  
I logged in mysql to diagnos the problem  which wasnt much help.  I 
figured I must have corrupted the database during a recent hard reboot.  
Anyways a dropped the database and when I went to re-install a fresh 
copy, again I was getting errors. 
At about this time I realized that there was absolutely nothing wrong 
with my Myth database and that the reason for the errors was that the 
hard drive had filled up.  Boy I felt stupid and ended up losing  my 
entire myth database including show information for dozens of recorded 
programs :(
