[mythtv-users] Access denied for user: 'mythtv@tochtli' (Using password: YES)

folks, i just finished installing mythtv on a debian sarge
system. i am having trouble running the mythtv binary.
it exits with the message:

# mythtv
Unable to connect to database!
Driver error was [1/1045]:
QMYSQL3: Unable to connect
Database error was:
Access denied for user: 'mythtv at tochtli' (Using password: YES)

couldn't open db

however i am able to connect to mysql as mythtv at tochtli
using mysqlcc.

any thoughts, suggestions, and rtfms (w/a pointer to fm)
would be appreciated.
