[mythtv-users] Advice on a UK Shuttle XPC setup...

Hi guys, there's a number of questions I've got, I'd appreciate it if
you could take the time to answer some of them.

Ok, here goes..

Here's my setup;

Shuttle XPC SN41G
Athlon XP 2400+
1G DDR
Integrated Geforce MX 440
Hauppage Win TV PCI (350)
DVD-R

Shuttle 5 in 1 media reader
Shuttle USB Remote

(Using 1024*728 in

I've got KnoppMyth installed (although I'm a Gentoo Man at heart) and
I've got the XVmc stuff, NVIDIA drivers, DVD, Sound etc.. etc..
working..

Here's my questions;

1) How do I populate the channel list automatically.. I've had a play
with the tv_grab_uk_rt stuff and it seems to get the list, I've then
configured a few channels via the command line, but that's as far as I
can get.. nothing shows within mythtv itself and I can't really be
mithered typing in the whole list of channels. Do I really have to enter
all of the frequency settings, xml, ids etc.. in mythtv-setup? Seem like
a major headache if so.. If anyone can point me to any SQL scripts or
bash scripts that could take care of this, I'd appreciate it (I'm based
in Manchester)

2) I get a blank screen when I try and watch tv. However if I run scan
from the command line I can scan for channels and it picks them up,
meaning that all the modules are loaded for the 350 etc.. I presume this
problem will be related to the above.

3) I'd like to use the SVHS input to take a signal from my SKY digibox
as it's going to be better picture quality that a composite signal, any
pointers.. going to use the setup from the knoppmyth wiki - want to get
plain old analog working first though!

3) I want to get the remote(s) working. Idelly the shuttle XPC USB
remote as there's more keys, but the hauppage one would suffice too.

4) Not tried configuring the media reader yet, but does anybody have
pointers.. I presume once the media is inserted it should mount ok... or
am I going to have to edit my fstab?

There's lots, lots more questions but that's all for now!

T.I.A.

Joel
