Yes, you also need to set an ALSA output device instead of /dev/dsp. /dev/dsp
is OSS. Exactly what you need is a bigger question... You might start with
trying /dev/adsp and ALSA:default. I believe I use ALSA:spdif to output via
S/PDIF to my amp.

Define better. :-) Some of this is subjective. I like kernel deint myself, but
its the most cpu-intensive. Bob is often recommended for HD.

Or rather, ALSA, since you've been using OSS, it sounds like. Be sure to
enable "extra audio buffering" and try ALSA 1.0.5a (1.0.6a has been
problematic w/HDTV for many people).
