[mythtv-users] PVR-350 & truncate/missing recordings,

Hi all,
I've been running MythTV on my pc (just a plain Dell with a PVR-350
added to it) for a few months now. After spending some days trying to
figure out the configuration, and once I got rid of the occasional
sound-less recording by adding the correct 'standard' parameter, it has
been running like a charm (even TV-out works fine). However, since a
few weeks, I've been losing lots and lots of recordings: MythTV starts
recording just fine, but after a while, it just stops for no apparent
reason (leaving a file of a few hundred megs). Once this happens, the
next recording won't even start. I've look in the logs for any traces,
but don't see anything out of the ordinary. On the net (and forums), I
found some traces of similar problems, but no real fixes or
workarounds. What confuses me the most, is that before this all
started, it had been recording 2 show/day (on average), without any
problems for over a month! Last week, I've added two parameters
(mpg_buffers=30 dec_yuv_buffers=20) to my settings. After that,
everything went back to normal for about a week, but when I came home
today, I noticed that 1 recording was truncated, and the 2nd never
started!! Most of the posts on this list seem to indicate that it's the
ivtv drivers that are not quite yet there, but I don't think I've
changed any settings, so I have no clue what is going on here, or why
this had suddenly started. A 2nd problem (don't know if it is related
or not) occurred more or less around the same time: once in a while
(and only after a reboot), all red-ish colors seem to be missing
(leaving all people in the recording with a blue-ish skin). Sometimes
the picture is ok for the rest, sometimes there's what I would describe
as short burst of blue-ish static noise every second or so, between the
bursts, the picture is fairly normal (don't know if this makes sense,
don't know how to describe it). I'm not sure that these 2 problems are
related, but any help would sure be appreciated.
PS. Despite these problems, I still think MythTV rocks!
My config:
PIII 733 (440BX MB, I guess)
120Gb HD
PVR-350 (both for recording and watching)
KnoppMyth R4V2 - MythTV 0.14, ivtv 0.1.9
PAL (if that matters)
