This worked - WinMyth now works as expected. Thanks!

Unlikely - MediaPlayer explicitly tells me it doesn't recognise the  
protocol "myth". I know that you need to register something in the XP  
machine for this. Can't remember where but I did something similar for the  
eDonkey ed2k:// links once.

Also, a new problem: the video doesn't seem to fit in the space allocated  
for it on-screen, neither in the WinMyth window or when playing  
fullscreen. I think it's a DSMyth problem since it happens when I play the  
files in MediaPlayer directly as well. Part of the right edge of the video  
is simply sliced off, like the resizing of it doesn't match up to the  
given resolution when going from 720x576 to WxH in WinMyth or fullscreen  
(1280x1024)...
