Thanks Axel - I noticed those after nosing around the Atrpms site for a
while.  I'm new to the apt-get command line and I'm a little unclear on
the syntax - what command(s) should I use to download/install the
packages?

Without error output there is little that can be done to help.

Why don't you use the 1.10pre2 rpms at
