[mythtv-users] Strange sound problem...

Thanks for the suggestion, but the report went as far as ioctl:
VIDIOC_QUERYCTRL and then gave a continuous list repeating the following
four lines over and over:
    Brightness = 34655
    Contrast = 33680
    Saturation = 33310
    Hue = 31458

There was no mention of mute or volume.

I don't think that this is the problem, however, as my 'development'
frontend works with the same files.

Let me give another example of the problem.
    Using the _same recorded video_ ...
        The development frontend plays fine including sound
        The shuttle frontend plays the video beautifully, but with no sound
output.
    Deduction: the sound is being recorded, but the playback does not output
the sound => the PVR250 setup is OK in the backend
    Query: what is different between the output from a RTJPEG stream and a
MPEG2 stream
    Possibilities: 1. There is a library missing or silently failing on the
shuttle frontend
                    2.There is a configuration error on the sound output of
the shuttle frontend

Rgds
