I succeeded with for instance the stable 0.1.9 rpms.

Do you have the right tuner settings in /ect/modules.conf? See
http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/fcmyth.php#capture about how to probe the
type of the tuner.

If you have a microtuner, you should probably try ivtv/viedo4linux
from the bleeding section.
