I beg to differ but not everything works. You may see a picture
but AFAIK overscan and vsync have not worked with any driver after
4363.

Flicker has to do with how TVs work and how eyes work. Several
environmental factors can effect how much you perceive flicker
but one general thing is to reduce the maximum brightness (by
lowering "contrast" for most sets, go figure ;-).

The overscan setting appears to have no affect with recent drivers.
Get NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4363.run and install it. It works just
fine and there is no reason to use a driver that is "newer" if it
isn't going to work. 4363 was written for linux 2.4.x (and there
is nothing wrong with using a 2.4 kernel either BTW ;-) so you
will need the patches at http://www.minion.de/ .

Also, if you only see borders on two sides, your TV set may not
have its image centered properly. Google for "service mode" and
the model number of your TV to see if this can be adjusted. If
not, once you have overscan working with 4363, you will want to
adjust Setup->Appearance->Screen Settings to fit the GUI to your
screen.
