After setting the vbi and dsp settings back to the defaults on both cards it
seems to be working. At last! :)  Even though the settings are not supposed
to be used/supported they appearantly made a difference.

I am almost afraid to reboot the box to see if it survives a reboot. Well,
maybe after tonites marathon 5 hour recording session of StarGate SG-1. That
should be a good test.
